How to access the internet using your Butacell eSIM on an iOS device

Where to find your connection instructions


You can always revisit your setup steps in the Butacell app.

Go to: My eSIMs → Select your eSIM → How to use your eSIM → How to connect

or

My eSIMs → Select your eSIM → View installation instructions → Part 2

These pages include the exact network and APN details needed for your specific eSIM.


Step 1: Enable your eSIM for mobile data


  1. Open Settings
  2. Tap Cellular (or Mobile Data)
  3. Select your Butacell eSIM
  4. Turn on Turn On This Line if it’s disabled
  5. Go back to Cellular/Mobile Data
  6. Choose your Butacell eSIM as the Data Line

This ensures your device uses the eSIM for internet access.


Step 2: Connect to the supported network


  1. Open Settings → Cellular/Mobile Data
  2. Select your Butacell eSIM
  3. Tap Network Selection
  4. Turn Automatic OFF
  5. Choose the network that is shown in your connection instructions inside the Butacell app

Selecting the right network is important, especially in countries with multiple roaming partners.


Step 3: Update APN settings (if required)


Some plans require manual APN input.

  1. Open Settings → Cellular/Mobile Data
  2. Select your Butacell eSIM
  3. Tap Cellular Data Network (or Mobile Data Network)
  4. Enter the APN exactly as displayed in the Butacell app
  5. Leave all other fields empty

If the APN was set automatically, you do not need to modify anything.


Step 4: Enable data roaming (if required)


  1. Open Settings → Cellular/Mobile Data
  2. Select your Butacell eSIM
  3. Turn Data Roaming ON or OFF based on the instructions for your specific plan

Some regional or global plans require roaming to be enabled so your eSIM can connect properly.
